As we understand that Qatar has changed rules for Employment visas for Indians in similar fashion as that of Abudhabi Visa. The changes are so recent that the exact information is still awaited, however our sources say that the visa will now be issued to the candidates and he/she will have to approach any of the various visa centres to get the visas stamped on their individual passports. Mostly the GAMCA medical and Biometrics will be done prior to Visa stamping and once stamped only then the employee can travel to Qatar.
The process it seems is complicated but can be explained as below:
a. The employer in Qatar will get visa allocated for individual employee and send the visa copy to the employee.
b. At the same time, this visa will be communicated to visa stamping center across India where the employee can go for further process.
c. Then the Employee will carry the visa paper sent by Employee and his passport, photos and GAMCA Medical reports etc. to the visa stamping center.
d. His Biometric (Retina /eye scan, fingerprint scan etc.) will be done by the center and his visa will be stamped on Passport if his Medical is okay.
e. For this process and verification, passport may be held by Visa stamping center for a couple of days.
f. Once visa is stamped, passport will be sent to employee by courier to his residence, or alternatively it can be collected by him or by authorized agency on his behalf after 2 days of submission.
g. Once the visa stamped passport is obtained, only then the employee can travel to Qatar.
Still there are a lot of questions in this regard like whether this process is applicable for all types of visas or only certain specific visas, whether employee needs to be physically present for visa stamping, what is the exact cost of all process, whether the employee needs to do medical again after he/she reached Qatar…and so on.
